What Happened To That Man (She Says)

What happened to that man

Who kissed me for an eternity

Before we even said hello

My breath was already gone

Anticipation of the night to come

Crackled in the air like electricity

What happened to that man

Whose sweet words of kindness

Made me believe in love again

In the possibility of true happiness

With him, I allowed myself to be open

Hoping, that this time love would be gentle

You said I was beautiful

Every word from your lips I took as gospel

And now here I am hurting, again

If you were really that man

You would love me as much as I love you

What happened to that man?
