Sleep Blankets the earth this
Evening...
Sleep Blankets the earth this
Evening
A peaceful night free of
mothers mourning
The young ones safe in the
arms of God
Fathers forever the strong
silent type
Wary of unspeakable violence
permeating this earth
Watch their babies sleep like
babies through the night
But they need not worry, they
not fret
When the presence of God lives
within our hearts
Fear cowers in its deepest
darkest corner
When we stand with God fear
loses its power
Sleep blanket the earth this
evening
When God’s love and mercy is
embraced by his people
These nights of peace will be
infinite.
