Rest in Peace

There is beauty in death

The finality of grace

To lay in peace

With a life of accomplishment behind you

A legacy of the person you wanted to be

Even when you fell short of your intended goal

You can rest assured that the effort was made

And for that, your life will have been complete

One day the ones left behind, will know

In an epiphany of a lost moment

That you tried to share yourself

Even when you didn’t know how to just be you

Let life’s raindrops flow through you without hindrance

The effort of resistance is just too much

Allow life to be life

Let yourself be only human

The rest is up to God.

(Wrote this piece as I watched Kevin Spacey’s brains splattered all over his kitchen table with a bemused look on his face. I was watching American Beauty again and the simplicity of the message that we’re alone basically alone trying to connect to others in attempt to find our true essence. The effort is muddled but the goal is clear.)
