Recovering
Alcoholic
You
drink me As
if you’re a recovering alcohol Your
lips tremble at the first taste of what you crave Your
eyes roll back in their sockets As
the first drops slide down your thirsty throat Reminiscing
about your first taste You
are like a young bird waiting for a feeding So
hungry you are not a drop is spilled When
you’re thirsty again There
will be a second serving waiting. Dean
