Poem Writer…
Are you writing a poem in your thoughts
She says to him in between breaths
And for once, the poem writer had no words
To capture the emotions wreaking havoc inside
From a distance he was always an observer
Taking notes on the nuances of human emotions
Detached, uninvited he watched love play callous games
With far too many trusting hearts
Always he asked himself why don’t they just run
Like the idiots in the movies
Now he knew the answer,
You want to run but you really want to stay
To find out if you have what it takes to make it to the end.
