Once In a Lifetime…
Once in a lifetime
I want to love with reckless abandon
Be consumed with passion
Travel to ends of the earth in search of her
I want the romance of it all to leave me heart broken
So I can immortalize her in poetry like poets of old
Then when all seems lost and love has seemingly abandoned me
My very next breath would be much too painful
The gods of love will have sent me an angel
Her touch will be life affirming
Her words will leave me believing
That love can still be found in a moment
Can last for a lifetime.
