Girl
As a young girl you showed me kindness
That simple gesture and you claimed my heart
No overtures of empty promises
We simply met as two lonely people
From that moment on my every thought
Was of finding my way to that moment again
You simply smiled at me giving my life
meaning
Hope sprang eternal that someday you would
return my love
Today, you have come in answer to a little
girl’s prayers
I am that little girl once again here in your
arms.
