Before
That Day Comes
Long before God calls you to Heaven You will have to see me
again Not
just as a thought on your mind Or
a fleeting feeling slipping through your fingers But
as the man you fell in love with, undiminished Before you I will stand just as you remembered Unbowed and full of passion, Forever
young trapped in time Waiting
for you to reach for my love As
I would have reached for yours Together
we would have lost ourselves In
the newness of a first love blossoming Somewhere
in the past the future hasn’t happened We
live under the illusion that our love will be forever This
is how I choose to remember the way we were. Jéan-Pierre,
