A Woman’s Prayer

For once she prays

As she lays awake in his arms

Let him be the one to live up to his words

Not just empty promises

Filled with little girl dreams

Let him be the man he says he is

And has my best interest at heart

Make him understand that I’m a good woman

Who’s been hurt before,

And one more time could be the last straw

Let him see beyond my breasts, hips and thighs

And see the beautiful woman that lives inside

Let him want me not only for my body but also my mind

If he truly is the man for me

Then everything I’ve wished for,

He will already know.
