A
Purposeful Life
Passions burns
bright The need for a
purposeful life, Remains undaunted A higher calling
that serves mankind And not my selfish
endeavors We live in a world
where self-gratification is applauded The quest to serve a
higher purpose goes unanswered And all that is left
is chaos and despair Change begins with
the simplest of gestures Touch a heart, touch
a soul and in turn They too will find
their purpose And so the circle of
change begins. Dean Jéan-Pierre (I was riding the
train home this evening reading an article in Esquire about Bill Clinton and his
worldwide fight to eradicate Aids/Hiv, it’s a noble cause. It got me to
thinking what am I truly doing with my life to effect change of some kind, no
matter how small. Will anything I’m doing be remembered when I’m just
fertilizer? I think a lot these days of my legacy, a sense of purpose. These are
the thoughts that haunt me at nites, these days. Not thoughts of money, women or
any of these everyday pedestrian endeavors but necessary nonetheless. We all
have a calling, it’s time to find mine-whatever it may be.) (This work is copyrighted)
