Moral Dilemma:
So I had a choice to tell a lifelong friend, someone I've known since I was
eight years old something I didn't want to tell this person about someone they
'might be dating' who happens to be my cousin. Family loyalties usually
trump friendship, but not in this case. I put myself in their shoes and if I was
them I would want to be told, so I told this person. At the end of the day
I had to tell this person what I know even it doesn't turn out to be true, that
way they have all the information and can make an informed decision. I don't
like to pontificate about morality because I'm the last person to speak about
such things. But now, I think I may have made a mistake. Intentions were right,
but execution was wrong. It occurred to me that I should've told my cousin to
fess up in such and such amount of time or I would have to be the bearer
of bad news to this person. But they've had almost 3 months to fess up.
Let the chips fall where they may. I expect to get a double barrel of
venom. Wouldn't have it any other way.
